One of Grindstone Neck's original cottages, Harbor Hill was designed by Wilson Eyre, a prominent Philadelphia architect, and built in 1890; to this day it remains an iconic example of the classic shingle cottages designed for this incredible community. Initially described as a 'small but elegant summer community', Grindstone Neck is located on a small peninsula of land near to The Schoodic and Winter Harbor section of Acadia National Park. The Grindstone Neck association offers a golf course, yacht club, swim club and tennis courts, and woodland paths along the scenic oceanfront overlooking Frenchman Bay and the mountains of Mount Desert.

Harbor Hill offers elegant cottage-style living and dining rooms, with large granite fireplaces, dark raised paneling of Cyprus wood, coffered beamed ceilings, cushioned window seats, and interior columns. A beautiful sunroom with harbor views, and beadboard walls and ceiling, provides a cozy spot to rest or read. Once run as a small inn, the home's kitchen provided meals for the guests, with dining in the large dining room, and a bright sunroom. With its seven bedrooms (several with the original beadboard and Cypress paneling with coffered ceiling, and granite or brick fireplaces), six-and-a-half bathrooms with original marble sinks and clawfoot tubs, Harbor Hill is a perfect setting for an extensive family or for the entertainment of guests. A Porte cochere complements the front entrance, and a large, wrap-around deck provides an outside entertainment area. Two second floor sundecks provide mountain and harbor views.

Located on 2.7 acres, framed by stately trees, shrubs and manicured lawns, Harbor Hill is located just a few minutes from the seaside village of Winter Harbor, where one finds a delightful mixture of cafes and artisan galleries. The Hancock County-Bar Harbor is only a short 30 minutes away, whereas the larger Bangor International Airport is less than 90 minutes away.
